A Harry Potter actress victim of bodyshaming on the set: she confides

Jessie Cave, who played the role of Lavender Brown in Harry Potter, confided in the British media The Guardian. She revealed that she was mocked for her looks during the filming of the second part of Deathly Hallows.

It was in 2009 in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that the character of Lavender Brown appeared for the very first time. At that time, everything went very well, according to the actress. But two years later, during the filming of the second part of Deathly Hallows, things had changed. By the time I went back to do the last movie, I had put on a little bit of weight and I wasn't that person anymore, Jessie Cave told The Guardian, referring to Lavande Brown's persona as conventionally pretty, no glasses, petite.

The British actress, now 34 years old, has indeed received inappropriate remarks about her weight gain. She remembers a costume designer who outright grabbed her stomach. Which was just horrible, she said.

To this day, the actress says she is traumatized by the experience. Now, when I go to a costume fitting, I'm terrified. I expect to be told something nasty, confides Jessie Cave. Bodyshaming that the actress still suffers from: When someone is nice to me, that someone is worried about how I may feel about my body, it makes me want to cry.
