She made a lasting impression with her incredible performance in Life is Beautiful. Friday, December 31, 2021, Jeanine Ann Roose died. Aged 84 years, she succumbed to an abdominal infection. She would have fought for several months against the disease. She had worked as an actress during her childhood, from the 1940s to 1950. She signed her best performance in 1946, in the famous film. She played only once for the cinema in La vie est belle. She played the role of Violet. She was then nine years old. Life is beautiful is the only film in which I participated and it is the extraordinary experience of a lifetime, to have been in a film so important for so many people, she said years later.

She landed her first role on comedian Jack Benny's show at the age of eight. She also appeared on the radio shows The Fitch Bandwagon and The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show between 1946 and 1954. Some time later, she decided to end her acting career to become a psychoanalyst. She had always felt the need to help others in some way. She originally wanted to pursue a career in nursing, but decided to become a psychologist and eventually a psychoanalyst.

It was her role in Life is Beautiful that gave her her calling. It became clear that my desire was specifically to help others who were struggling to find meaning in their lives - a bit like Clarence in the film who helps George see the meaning of his life, she said. A role of a lifetime, which guided her choices and allowed her to find her voice.
