Alec John Such, former bassist for Bon Jovi, has died at the age of 70
Alec John Such, former bassist and founding member of the American rock band Bon Jovi, has died at the age of 70, the band announced Sunday.
Alec John Such had co-founded Bon Jovi in 1983, but left the band in 1994. In 2018, he had reunited with Bon Jovi for his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
When he was a member, in the 80s, Bon Jovi had notably marked the spirits with titles like Runaway, Livin' on a Prayer or You Give Love a Bad Name.
Born on November 14, 1951, he founded his first band at the age of 13, in which he joined the drummer Tico Torres, member of Bon Jovi.
Although he was fired from the band for reasons that were never specified, he remained in contact with the musicians. In 2001, he attended a Bon Jovi concert in New Jersey and performed Wanted Dead or Alive. In 2018, he made an appearance when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The causes of his death are unknown.
