Bill and Hillary Clinton's mood: the meeting they dread this fall

He just celebrated his 75th birthday on August 19, but it looks like the party is well and truly over for Bill Clinton. The former U.S. president was photographed alongside his wife Hillary as they strolled together during their annual summer getaway in the Hamptons town of Amagansett.

In a series of photos published in the Daily Mail, the mood between the former president and his wife Hillary, 73, looked glum.

The next few weeks are going to be very trying for the Clintons. The sex scandal that plagued them will soon resurface in Ryan Murphy's TV adaptation, Impeachment: American Crime Story, bringing the sultry intern Monica Lewinsky back into the spotlight.

The series will focus on the national crisis that erupted around Bill Clinton's sexual relationship with his intern Monica Lewinsky - and his infamous denial of having had it - up to and including the events leading up to the historic December 19, 1998 vote on whether to impeach the sitting president. In January 1999, Bill Clinton was on trial before the Senate, but the impeachment conviction failed to garner the required two-thirds majority. Republican senators ultimately refused to vote for Clinton's impeachment as political.

Starring Clive Owen as Bill Clinton, Edie Falco as Hillary, Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp and Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky, the drama will span ten one-hour episodes.

No doubt that the media coverage of this new television series will reopen the wounds of the former first lady caused by the infidelities of her famous husband.
