Known for his role in Superman, Ned Beatty has passed away at the age of 83

 Known for his roles in Network and Superman, Ned Beatty has just passed away at the age of 83. According to his manager, he died of natural causes, in his bed in Los Angeles near his family and friends.

Ned Beatty was best known for his role in Network (1976) for which he was nominated for an Oscar. But the American actor had played in a dozen roles for film or television.

After his debut in Deliverance (1972), he received Golden Globe for his role in Hear My Song (1991) and two Emmys for the series Friendly Fire (1979) and Last Train Home (1990). But the actor was also known for his role of Otis in the Superman saga.

More recently, he had lent his voice to the original version of the teddy bear Lotso, in Toy Story 3.
