Nicolas Cage and his wife are expecting a child

Nicolas Cage and his wife, Riko Shibata, are going to have a baby, confirmed Thursday the spokesman of the actor to the site Page Six.

The parents-to-be are thrilled!" the publicist said. The expected delivery date or the sex of the baby was not revealed. This will be the first child of the 27-year-old Japanese Shibata.

Nicolas Cage, 57, has two other children from previous relationships: Kal-El, 16, and Weston, 31, who is four years older than his new mother-in-law.

Shibata, 27, married Nicolas Cage in February 2021 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. She is the fifth wife of the Gone In 60 Seconds star.

At the time of their wedding, Cage said in a statement, This is genuine, and we are very happy.

The couple met in Shiga, Japan and got together shortly after the dissolution of Cage's last marriage, to Erika Koike.

Nicolas Cage was also married to actress Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004 and Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016.

According to the Daily Mail, Nicolas Cage proposed to Shibata via video conference and sent his ring via FedEx to Japan.
She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and haven't seen her in six months, he said on his brother Marc Coppola's podcast in August 2020, referring to the geographic distance between them.
