Rihanna becomes one of the RICHEST musicians on the planet: here is how much her fortune is estimated
Singer and businesswoman Rihanna is now worth $1.7 billion, trade magazine Forbes announced Wednesday, becoming one of the richest musicians on the planet. The R&B icon has parlayed her chart success into a massive fashion and beauty empire, and her earnings now dwarf those of superstars like Madonna and Beyoncé.
Hailing from the island of Barbados, 33-year-old Robyn Rihanna Fenty made a meteoric rise to international stardom in 2003. But while her record sales and touring have contributed to her fortune, it's her entrepreneurial talent that has catapulted her into the super-rich. Forbes, which regularly ranks the world's wealthiest people, estimated Wednesday that about 1.4 billion of her fortune came from her makeup brand, called Fenty Beauty and created in partnership with French luxury giant LVMH.
Launched in September 2017 with the goal of promoting inclusion, Fenty Beauty produces makeup for dozens of different skin tones. Rihanna also co-owns her Savage X Fenty lingerie line, which contributes 270 million to her net worth, according to Forbes. And despite the fact that she hasn't released an album since 2016, the singer retains immense online influence, with more than 100 million followers on Instagram and Twitter.
