Weight loss: these foods are much higher in calories than we think
Just because a food is healthy doesn't mean it doesn't have calories unfortunately, many people fall into this trap. Here's what foods to watch out for.
If you want to slim down your figure and take care of your body, the first thing to do is to eat a healthy diet. But be careful: healthy does not mean low-calorie. Indeed, a food can be very good for your body, but also bring a lot of calories. This is not really a problem, but you might wonder why you don't lose weight, despite a healthy diet.
Here are some foods that we think are low in calories but it's the opposite
Smoothies. Yes, it's fruit, so it's healthy and full of vitamins. Unfortunately, fruit contains a lot of sugar and is therefore caloric. The same goes for juices, even home-pressed ones.
Plant milks. They are often filled with added sugars to give them taste.
Cereals. Even low-fat cereals are still far too high in sugar, and therefore in calories.
Rice cakes. Its glycemic index is higher than that of white sugar not great for losing weight!
White bread. It is caloric and very sweet, but it is also quite low in nutrients.
Vegetarian steaks. It is thought to be lower in calories than real meat wrong. It is even, sometimes, more caloric.
Seeds. Although they are rich in protein, fiber and amino acids, most of them are very high in calories.
